1 dead from shooting in Grier Heights
Police are investigating a Sunday afternoon shooting in the east Charlotte’s Grier Heights community that left one person dead.
Police released few details but said the killing happened in the area of 3463 Marvin Road. When officers from the Providence Division arrived in response to a call concerning an assault with a deadly weapon, they found the victim outside the location dead of an apparent gunshot wound.
Based on early interviews, detectives believe the shooting was sparked by an argument. As of 6:50 p.m., investigators were seeking information concerning a tan or champagne-colored Chevy Caprice Classic, which left the scene shortly after the shooting. The vehicle was said to be occupied by two black males.
