Police arrested 20 people Thursday night at a DWI checkpoint near Time Warner Cable arena in uptown Charlotte.

The checkpoint began at 11 p.m. on East 5th Street near N. Caldwell St. and ran until 3 a.m. Friday. Charges ranged from driving while intoxicated to possession of a firearm by a felon.

Here’s the rundown:

DWI charges -- 17

Driving with license revoked -- 8

No operator's license -- 24

Open container -- 7

Possession of alcohol under age -- 1

Drug charges -- 6

Other citations -- (tags, insurance, etc..) -- 17

Seat belt violation -– 1

Concealed weapon (gun) -- 1

Possession of firearm by felon -- 1

Total Charges -- 83

Total arrests -- 20
