Police allege that one of the suspects, 27-year-old Dapatrick Richardson, also fired a gun while fleeing police. In addition to robbery-related charges, he also was charged with assault with a deadly weapon on a law enforcement officer.
The other suspect, Dequrius Greene, was charged with robbery with a dangerous weapon, conspiracy to commit robbery with a dangerous weapon, felony flee to elude, possession of a stolen vehicle and reckless driving.
Police allege that about 3:30 p.m. Tuesday, the two men robbed the Kings Cleaner and Launderette in the 600 block of West Sugar Creek Road. Witnesses told police that after committing the robbery, the suspects drove away in the direction of the Hidden Valley neighborhood.
A CMPD officer later spotted a suspect car and tried to pull it over. A brief chase ensued before the car struck a parked vehicle in front of a home and came to a stop.
The driver, later identified as Greene, was arrested at the scene. The passenger, later identified as Richardson, jumped from the car and ran into a wooded area, where he was caught and arrested.
During the foot chase, police said, officers heard shots fired. They said Richardson was carrying a gun when police caught up with him.
