Alvin Greene, the unemployed U.S. Army veteran who faces criminal obscenity charges, is running for office again -- this time an open S.C. House seat in Clarendon County.

Greene made headlines last fall as a South Carolina Democratic nominee for the U.S. Senate. He eventually lost in a landslide to Republican incumbent Jim DeMint.

The District 64 primary is scheduled for Feb. 15, with a special election set for April 5.

Green was arrested in 2009 on charges alleging that he showed pornographic images to a female student at the University of South Carolina. That case is still pending.
