Here’s what’s brewing in the news:

T.I. says gays are too sensitive

Atlanta rapper T.I., the self proclaimed King of the South, speaks out in the December issue of VIBE magazine about the rights of all Americans, including the right to be anti-gay. He says that gay people are too sensitive - especially when they become the butt of jokes.

Here’s an edited version of some of what he said:

“Man, I will say this, the funniest joke I ever heard [comedian] Tracy [Morgan] say during a stand-up was, ‘C’mon man, I think gay people are too sensitive… And it’s kind of true. They’re like, ‘If you have an opinion against us, we’re gonna shut you down.’ … That’s not American. If you’re gay you should have the right to be gay in peace, and if you’re against it you should have the right to be against it in peace.’

T.I. also blasted rapper 50 Cent for a remark the controversial rapper tweeted about his wife Tiny. (Read more)

Gay drinking water?

Something in a town’s drinking water is turning men gay, according to Mayor Jose Benitez of Haurmey, Peru. Haurmey says the town’s tap water contains high levels of Strontium, which he says reduces male hormones. The water comes from a nearby city named Tabalosos, where there are allegedly 14,000 gay men, and the mayor claims his town will soon have a higher percentage of homosexual men. Dr. Robert Castro Rodriguez, dean of the College of Pharmaceutical Chemistry of Lima, says that Strontium has been linked to an increased risk for bone cancer, anemia and heart problems, but not homosexuality. Christmas gift for NBA fans

Late Friday night a tentative deal was reached between NBA players and team owners that could end the lockout. It only took 149 days and countless hours of negotiations before the two sides were able to reach an agreement. If the deal is ratified, the new season is scheduled to start Christmas Day, NBA Commissioner David Stern said. (Read more)
