The Arts & Science Council (ASC) is offering grants to nonprofit organizations to support arts, science, history and heritage projects in Charlotte-Mecklenburg.

Groups may apply for up to $7,500 through ASC’s Cultural Project and Cultural Access grant programs.

Applications and guidelines are available at ArtsAndScience.org. The deadline is Friday, March 19, 2010, at noon.

Cultural Project grants are designed to increase access to arts, science, history and heritage programs. Nonprofits currently not receiving an ASC Operating Support grant are eligible to apply.

Cultural Access grants are designed to increase community access to African American, Asian, Latino, and Native American arts, science, history/heritage experiences. Mecklenburg County nonprofit organizations whose primary mission is to serve African American, Asian, Latino, and Native American communities and have not previously received funding through ASC are eligible. Previously funded projects can apply for Cultural Project grants.

ASC is hosting a series of free grant information sessions. All sessions are from 6:30 p.m. – 8:00 p.m.
