Black nurses ‘too ghetto’ for white patients?

Group of nurses claim company called them black, old and ghetto
A group of nurses is outraged and filing a lawsuit after they say their civil rights were violated when a Georgia-based health care company used age and race as reasons to refuse to hire or send them to white patients’ homes. The nurses were reportedly told by human resources that administrators for Accord Services referred to them as “too black,” “too ghetto,” and “too old.” Freddie Allen, an administrator for Accord Services, called the claims false, adding that the women were simply disgruntled employees who had been fired.

Homeless man gets 14 years for robbing students
A judge sentenced a homeless man to 14 years in prison plus 7 years of probation after he was found guilty of robbing University of Georgia students. The crimes occurred in February. At the time 21-year-old Germil Deun Johnson was living in a shelter. Johnson pleaded guilty to charges connected to three robberies and one attempted robbery, in which Johnson got cash from three students by threatening or bullying them. At the time of the robberies, Johnson, a registered sex offender, was on probation. (Read more)
Someone is a quarter of a billion dollars richer
A single lottery player matched all six numbers in last night's Power Ball drawing, winning the entire $254 million-jackpot. The ticket was purchased in Connecticut. The winning numbers were 12, 14, 34, 39 and 46, and the Power Ball was 36. The jackpot for Saturday's Power Ball game is $20 million, and the top prize in Friday's Mega Millions multi-state lottery is $12 million. A $77 million jackpot from the June 29 drawing still remains unclaimed. The holder of that ticket has less than two months left to claim their prize. (Read more)
Is Bieber the daddy?
A 20-year-old woman has filed paperwork demanding 17-year-old Justin Bieber take a paternity test to scientifically prove if the singer fathered her 3-month-old child. The woman, Mariah Yeater, is reportedly seeking “adequate support for [her] baby.” Yeater has signed an affidavit claiming she was invited to meet Bieber after his October 25, 2010 concert at the Los Angeles Staples Center, and they hooked up backstage. Hmmm, is this woman admitting to statutory rape? (Read more)
