Police are requesting help in identifying a man suspected of robbing a Family Dollar store in east Charlotte.
The robbery occurred just before 6 p.m. Sunday in the 4700 block of Kimmerly Glen Lane in the Kimmerly Glen Shopping Center near Sharon Amity Road.
A clerk in the store told police he was working a cash register when a black male (pictured above) walked up to the counter with a pack of diapers. The man placed the diapers on the counter then pulled a black semi-auto handgun from under his shirt. The suspect held the gun pointed downward then placed it back in his waistband.
Police said the suspect demanded "the big bills."
The clerk opened the cash register, pulled out the cash tray and placed it on the counter. The suspect then took all of the money and walked out.
The suspect was described as about 6-foot, two-inches tall, 170 pounds and about 20 years old.
Anyone with information is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 704-334-1600.
