Charlotte woman killed by ex-boyfriend
A west Charlotte woman was shot and killed by her ex-boyfriend early Sunday as she held their 6-month-old daughter.
Police said LaSheira Hall, 29, was hit several times and died at Carolinas Medical Center.
Homicide detectives on Sunday signed an arrest warrant for Tracy Serveria Gilliam, 27,
(pictured here) who was charged with murder. As of midday Monday police had not located Gilliam.
According to police reports, the shooting happened in the 3700 block Avalon Avenue at 5:19 a.m.
When officers arrived, they found Hall lying in a bedroom. She died about an our later.
Police said Hall, who was living at the residence with an aunt, had gotten into an argument with Gilliam earlier that night and had asked him to leave, which he did. Residents told police that when Gilliam left, everyone inside the house went back to sleep.
The aunt told police she later heard multiple gunshots and went to check on Hall. The aunt said she found Hall in wounded in bed and saw Gilliam fleeing the house.
According to the Charlotte Observer, the couple’s 6-month-old daughter was in Hall’s arms when she was shot.
Police used a K-9 unit to search for Gilliam, but the effort was unsuccessful.
