Chavon Carroll joins Arts & Science Council

Chavon Carroll was recently hired as donor marketing officer at the Arts & Science Council (ASC). She will help develop strategies and marketing materials for ASC’s fundraising efforts.

Caroll joined ASC from the Cincinnati Museum Center in Cincinnati, Ohio, where she was manager of corporate relations. In less than a year’s time, she turned around a struggling division of the organization and more than doubled the revenue raised the previous fiscal year.

Her other fundraising experience includes nearly two years of work as a campaign manager for the Fine Arts Fund, the nation’s largest and oldest United Arts Funds.

Carroll is a cum laude graduate of Xavier University. She earned a B.A. in communications with a minor in Spanish. She is married to Charles Carroll and has a 3-year-old daughter, Jordan.

Aaron Fiedler has joined ASC as public relations and communications assistant.

He has worked in news, public relations and sports marketing. Locally, Fielder has interned at WTVI, WBTV and Earnhardt Ganassi Racing with Felix Sabates. In the Triangle, he interned at UNC Hospitals and WUNC-FM.

Most recently Fiedler worked as the corporate sales intern for the Carolina Hurricanes NHL team in Raleigh. There he assisted the corporate sales department in all aspects of the sale and service of team sponsorships.

Fiedler is a 2010 graduate of the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. He earned a B.A. in journalism with a second major in political science.

Erica Bryant of Channel 9 (WSOC) will serve as mistress of ceremonies for the NAACP Freedom Fund Banquet, Saturday, Aug. 21.

The banquet celebrates the contributions of local leaders.
