City launches new online resourse site
The city of Charlotte launched a new website in May that it hopes will help steer entrepreneurs to information on loans, permits, financing and a host of other topics.
The city considers the site - www.charlottebusinessresources.com - a "portal" linking visitors to information from organizations such as the Charlotte Chamber and the Institute for Entrepreneurship at Central Piedmont Community College.
The City Council approved starting the website last summer. It cost $110,000, and the city has set aside another $40,000 to market it.
The site has had nearly 4,200 visits and just under 2,900 unique views. The top pages viewed are starting a business, licensing and permitting, and financing a business.
