A police officer shot and wounded a suspect Thursday night at the same apartment complex in east Charlotte where two Charlotte-Mecklenburg police officers were killed in 2007, according to a Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police spokesman.

CMPD spokesman Robert Fey said the shooting occurred just before 8:30 p.m. in the 7200 block of Barrington Drive near Milton Drive and East W.T Harris Boulevard.

Police have released few details. The wounded suspect was taken to Carolinas Medical Center, but his condition was not available.
