Couple shot dead in south Mecklenburg; teen son in custody
Story Update: The victims were identified as Christian Hans Liewald, 43, and Cassie Meghan Buckaloo, 24. Liewald was the suspect’s father.
Police arrested a 15-year-old juvenile and charged him with two counts of murder. He also was charged with armed robbery and attempted auto theft.

A 15-year-old boy was in custody Monday in connection with an overnight shooting that left a man and his wife dead in southern Mecklenburg County.
Police said the victims were the teen’s father and step-mother.
The shooting was reported shortly after 2 a.m. inside a home in the 2300 block of Buxton Drive, just south of the Lancaster Highway near Pineville.
Neither the victims nor the teen was immediately identified.
According to police, a male called 911 saying he needed police but refused to say why. A short time later, the male called again, saying he had shot his dad and his step-mom. The subject identified himself and told police he would be sitting on a nearby street corner waiting for officers to arrive.
When police arrived, they took the teen into custody. Inside the house officers found the couple dead.
The Charlotte Observer reported that some neighbors said the male shooting victim had a history of disagreements with neighbors and sometimes carried a gun.
