CNN's Don Lemon is gay

Good Morning! It’s National Police Week. It is a time when law enforcement officers across the nation are recognized for their sacrifices and contributions. A ceremony is being held today in Salisbury at noon to pay tribute to officers who have given their lives in the line of duty and honor those who continue to serve. The 2011 Rowan County Peace Officers Memorial Service will take place at First Presbyterian Church, 308 W. Fisher Street.
Yes, it’s still raining outside. Today, the weatherman is calling for early showers and afternoon thundershowers with a high of 61°. The rain is expected to last throughout the evening, followed by a few lingering showers overnight.
Here’s what is brewing in the news this morning:
CNN’s Don Lemon comes out
While making the rounds to promote his new memoir, “Transparent,” CNN weekend ne
ws anchor Don Lemon has revealed that he is gay.
This is not the first secret that Lemon has publicly announced. About eight months ago, while reporting on a piece about a sex scandal in an Atlanta church, he admitted that he was also the victim of sexual abuse as a child but kept it a secret for years.
“There was a time when I was terrified of revealing these things to the person I love most in this world--my own mother,” Lemon told E Online. “But when I finally mustered the courage to tell her that I had been molested as a child and that I was born gay, my life began to change in positive ways that I never imagined possible."
His sexual orientation was no secret among his co-workers, E Online reports, but Lemon said he wanted to tell the world his truth.
"I, like most gay people, lived a life of fear,” said the 45-year-old newsman. “It is a burden that millions of people carry with them every single day. And sadly, while the mockery and ostracizing are realized by millions of people every day, I truly believe it doesn't have to happen."

Arnold fathered a baby
The cat is out of the bag. The details surrounding the split between former California Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger and his wife Maria Shriver after 25 years of marraige
are beginning to emerge.
Last night, the LA Times broke the news that Schwarzenegger has confessed to fathering a child outside of his marriage. The child was conceived before his first run for office about 10 years ago with a longtime household staff member.
Earlier this year, Shriver moved out of the family's mansion in Brentwood, CA, after Schwarzenegger privately acknowledged the paternity. The staff member worked for the family for 20 years, retiring in January.
"After leaving the governor's office I told my wife about this event, which occurred over a decade ago," Schwarzenegger said Monday night in a statement issued to The Times in response to questions. "I understand and deserve the feelings of anger and disappointment among my friends and family. There are no excuses and I take full responsibility for the hurt I have caused. I have apologized to Maria, my children and my family. I am truly sorry."
