The driver of a Honda Passport was killed Thursday evening when the car collided with a school bus carrying about 50 students home from Devonshire Elementary.

No one on the bus suffered apparent injury, police reported.

The collision happened at about 4:01 p.m. at the intersection of Sharon Amity and Milton roads in east Charlotte. Police released no other details.

The victim’s name was withheld because relatives had not been notified.
