DWI checkpoint nets 11 arrests

Charlotte-Mecklenburg police made 11 arrests Thursday night as the result of a DWI checkpoint in the 2500 block of Freedom Drive at Camp Greene Street.

The checking station started around 11 p.m. and ended at 3 p.m.

Police made seven arrests for DWI, one arrest for driving with a license revoked and three arrests for possession of marijuana.

Total charges/citations were as follows:

DWI -- 7

Driving with license revoked/suspended -- 17

No operator’s license -- 28

Open container -- 1

No insurance -- 3

Seat belt violation -- 2

Providing false information -- 1

Drug Charges --- 4

Other citations (tags, inspections, etc..) -- 40

Warrants --1

Total Charges – 103
