DWI checkpoint nets multiple arrests
Police made at least 15 arrests Friday night at a DWI checkpoint on Freedom Drive at Camp Greene Street.
Nearly all arrested were charged with DWI.
The checkpoint was held in conjunction with the state’s St. Patrick’s Day “Booze it and Lose it” campaign, which runs from March 11 through March 17.
Here are checkpoint results:
DWI Charges -- 14
Driving with license revoked – 21
No operator's license -- 35
Open container -- 12
Possession of alcohol under age -- 1
Drug charges -- 1
Other citations (tags, insurance, etc..) -- 35
Seat belt infraction -– 2
Concealed weapon -- 1
Drug -- 4
Total Charges -- 126
