Thompson leaves Lowe's for civil rights museum
The International Civil Rights Center & Museum in Greensboro announced two new appointments this week.
Laresa Thompson, a former Charlotte resident who worked in corporate
communications at Lowe’s Companies Inc., was named director of marketing and communications.
Thompson has more than 15 years in communications, marketing and broadcast fields. At Lowe’s, she held a variety of roles, including public relations, internal communications, marketing and advertising. Prior to Lowe’s, she worked in the broadcast sector in television and radio.
She is a native of Greensboro and holds a bachelor’s degree in broadcast news from N.C. A&T State University.

The Rev. Robert N. Andrews II was named director of development.
Andrews has nearly 20 years of experience in managing non-profit organizations and university development offices. He holds a bachelor’s degree from N.C. A&T State University and a Master of Divinity degree from the Howard University School of Divinity, with a concentration in religious and non-profit organization administration.
Andrews also serves in leadership roles in many non-profit, academic, professional and civic.
Thompson and Andrews began their new jobs on May 23.
