corporate relations at Johnson C. Smith University.
Feimster will work with JCSU's corporate partners and sponsor
“Torrey brings a wealth of sales and marketing experience which will support and significantly enhance all of our fundraising efforts,” said Joy Paige, vice president for institutional advancement.
Dee Dixon, Pride's owner and CEO, told Qcitymetro on Tuesday that she will re-assume the role of publisher. The magazine's September edition, she said, will announce other organizational changes at Pride.
"We haven't missed a beat," Dixon said.
As publisher of Pride, Feimster was responsible for the overall direction and marketing of the magazine, and he increased revenue 50 percent over a five-year period, according to the JCSU announcement. He also organized and managed the Pride Sunset Jazz Festival, increasing its revenue almost 200 percent.
He previously worked as a financial adviser for Merrill Lynch.
Feimster received a Bachelor of Arts degree in speech communication from Wake Forest University. He also is a former president of the Young Professionals of the Urban League of Central Carolinas.
