Foxx takes a new gig
Charlotte Mayor Anthony Foxx has a new job: in-house attorney for a Qcity bus
manufacturer.
Foxx left Hunton & Williams, where he was a staff attorney, to join DesignLine International, a small company that makes hybrid buses, CharlotteObserver.com reports today.
The company moved its headquarters to Charlotte from New Zealand about three years ago, and Foxx had done work for the company while on staff at Hunton & Williams, the Observer said.
DesignLine has had contracts with the cities of New York and Baltimore as well as with Charlotte/Douglas International Airport. Foxx tells the Observer he will recuse himself from city issues that might pose a conflict.
Charlotte mayor is not a fulltime job, though Foxx has said it should be. His predecessor, Pat McCrory, worked for Duke Energy.
