Herman Cain joins the GOP race

hosted a talk radio show, on Saturday announced his candidacy for the GOP nomination.
"In case you accidentally listen to a skeptic or doubting Thomas out there, just to be clear ... I'm running for president of the United States, and I'm not running for second," he was quoted by the Associated Press as telling a crowd at Centennial Olympic Park in Atlanta.
Cain, 65, a former Federal Reserve insider and Morehouse College graduate, is credited with rescuing the Godfather Pizza chain by closing hundreds of stores. He has been a frequent critic of the Obama administration and is said to be a Tea Party favorite.
He was diagnosed with liver and colon cancer in 2006 but says he has been cancer-free since 2007, the AP reported.
