Cain to endorse Gingrich

Former Republican presidential candidate Herman Cain is expected to announce today that he will endorse Newt Gingrich for the GOP presidential nomination. In case you missed it, Cain suspended his campaign over the weekend after an Atlanta woman, Ginger White, made claims that she had been Cain’s mistress for 13 years. Since Cain dropped out of the race, several other Republican candidates, including Michele Bachmann and Ron Paul have been making their cases as to why his supporters should vote for them. Fox 5 Atlanta is reporting that Cain is putting his support behind Gingrich, who according to Iowa polls has a strong 26 percent of the vote, while Mitt Romney has 18 percent. (Read more

Billy Graham is not dead

WBTV had to issue an apology over the weekend after erroneously reporting the death of 93-year-old evangelist Rev. Billy Graham, who is recovering from pneumonia at Mission Hospital in Asheville. Around 6:30 a.m. Saturday, a producer and director say they thought they saw a bulletin announcing Graham’s death and instructed the newscast anchor to announce the news on air. After calling the hospital to verify, they learned that Graham was not dead and issued an apology. (Read more)

A win for Woods

Tiger Woods went 749 days and 26 tournaments without winning a title. It was a dark period for the man whose golf game used to be the best in the world. Yesterday, Woods ending his winning drought at the Chevron World Challenge. When asked about his win, Woods said: "It feels great. Kind of hard for me to elaborate beyond that. I know it's been awhile, but for some reason, it feels like it hasn't. As far as making the putt and the feeling afterward, I think I was screaming something. But it was just that I won the golf tournament. I pulled it off with one down, two to go.” (Read more).
