Holloway to speak at women's luncheon
Qcity radio personality Ramona Holloway will be the guest speaker at a women’s
networking luncheon sponsored by Morton’s steakhouse.
Holloway, one half of the nationally syndicated "Matt & Ramona Show," will discuss women in the workforce, the qualities women must possess to be successful and tips for tapping into one's individual calling.
The March 24 luncheon will kick off a series of networking lunches geared toward supporting and celebrating women, said Krista Manns, sales and marketing manager at the uptown steakhouse.
A reception will begin at 11:30 a.m., with lunch starting at noon. Cost: $45 per person, which includes tax, gratuity and parking.

The “Matt & Ramona Show” recently won the prestigious Gracie Allen Award for the second year in a row for outstanding radio comedy. The show also was nominated for a Marconi Award.
Holloway also co-hosts the Sunday morning faith-based show, “The Satisfied Life,” heard on WLNK, 107.9 FM.

The Rev. Clifford A. Jones Sr., pastor of Friendship Missionary Baptist Church, will be
the keynote speaker at N.C. A&T’s annual Honors Day Convocation.
The March 13 event will recognize some of the school’s outstanding students and faculty. The convocation begins at 3 p.m. in Harrison Auditorium.

Author, professor and Democratic political strategist Donna Brazile will be the keynote
speaker at S.C. State University’s 2010 First Lady Scholarship Luncheon.
Brazile has worked on several presidential campaigns for Democratic candidates, including Jimmy Carter-Walter Mondale, Jesse Jackson, Geraldine Ferraro and Richard Gephardt.
In the 1990s she served as chief of staff and press secretary to Congressional Delegate Eleanor Holmes Norton of the District of Columbia. She also advised Bill Clinton’s campaign for presidency in 1992 and for re-election in 1996.
The two-day scholarship luncheon – March 27 and 28 -- is designed to increase scholarship support for S.C. State students. This year’s theme is “Empowering Women and Building Self-Worth.”
