Antonio Gerrick Hamilton, wanted by police in the May 16 shooting death of Devon Clement outside a Cookout Restaurant on Sugar Creek Road, has turned himself in.

Police said Hamilton, 19, surrendered early Saturday morning. In addition to murder charges, he also was charged with shooting into an occupied dwelling.

Hamilton was booked into the Mecklenburg County jail.

Police said they also were looking for two other men in relation to the killing. Warrants have been issued for:

--Cherelle Monet Griffin, aka, “Red,” 20

--Shamon Monair Goins, aka, “Ruger,” 19

Anyone with information concerning the whereabouts of these suspects is asked to call 911 or the Violent Criminal Apprehension Team at 704-336-8228.

Police said both men should be considered armed and dangerous.

Based on initial witness statements, police believe that Clement, 20, may have been shot following an altercation with several people outside the north Charlotte restaurant. His death marked a five-day period in which the city saw five homicides. As a result, police increased patrols in neighborhoods where the killings occurred.
