A popular HBCU faces tough choices

Competition for America’s top black scholars is “increasingly fierce,” the newspaper reports. So like some other HBCUs, Howard I having to reassess.
With roughly 10,500 students, it offers 171 academic programs. Among the undergraduate programs proposed for cuts: philosophy, anthropology, the classics -- even African studies, the Post says.
QUESTION: Did you attend an HBCU? Tell us what made the experience special. Is it time to consider consolidating some of our weaker schools? Would you agree to see yours consolidated?
