Congressman Danny Davis, a Chicago Democrat, has received an email possibly suggesting a threat of violence, according to published reports.

Davis said the message came in an email to a staffer. It said "Could Danny Davis be next?"

Davis was quoted as saying he ordinarily would ignore such messages, but in light of the recent shooting of Arizona Congresswoman Gabrielle Giffords he decided to turn the email over to authorities.
