It's a three-peat for JCSU
Tanoia Hill, the reigning Miss Johnson C. Smith University, was crowned Food Lion Miss CIAA 2009 today at Time Warner Cable Arena.
Hill is a senior communications major. Her victory marks the third straight year that Miss CIAA has come from the Charlotte campus.
Hill received only 1 percent of the 1.9 million votes cast on the CIAA website. Miss Fayetteville State University got 36 percent, and Miss St. Augustine’s College got 31 percent. But contestants also are judged on grade-point average, a written bio, an essay and community involvement.
Hill told Qcitymetro.com earlier this month that she has a 3.6 GPA.
