Lowe's to add 275 call center jobs
Lowe’s Companies Inc., the home-improvement chain, will add more than 275 jobs in its Wilksboro call center this year, officials announced today.
A Lowe’s spokeswoman declined to specify a pay range for the jobs, saying compensation would vary based on skills required for specific jobs.
“There are a number of jobs here that is very specialized,” said the spokeswoman, Karen Cobb. “What I can tell you is that it is market competitive.”
The company’s website currently lists 45 call-center jobs. The rest will be rolled out over the coming month, a Lowe’s official said.
Employment at the call center has grown from about 350 in January 2010 to more than 700 currently. The number is expected to top 975 by year’s end. Officials said the employment grow has been driven by Lowe's carrying a larger number of "proprietary brands" and increased customer service.
