physical violence and threats” to force an unidentified woman to “continue providing commercial sex acts."
The complaint alleges that the woman, identified only as “JM” had worked as a prostitute for Rodgers but was attacked by him after she said she wanted out.
Rodgers was arrested Friday and was in the Mecklenburg jail early Monday.
According to documents filed by federal prosecutors, Rodgers used Internet websites to solicit clients. He would then drive the women to meet clients in hotel rooms in Charlotte; Nashville, Tenn.; Albuquerque, N.M.; and Covington, Ohio, the complaint says.
According to Charlotte Observer, Rodgers has faced prostitution-related charges before. In 2006, he pleaded guilty to aiding and abetting prostitution and using a computer to violate Oklahoma law. The records don't say whether he got prison time, the Observer said.
