Officers were in the area investigating an unrelated call for service at about 1:49 a.m. when they heard multiple gunshots coming from the University Gardens Apartment complex on Southwest Boulevard. As officers arrived, they reported seeing a black male run from the scene.
Police sealed off the area and called for the K-9 unit to track the unidentified male. Meanwhile, paramedics arrived and pronounced Bouldin dead at 1:57 a.m.
Less than an hour later, a man called 911 to report that he was involved in the shooting. Officers went to his location and took him to police headquarters for questioning.
