Man shot, seriously wounded in southwest Charlotte
Police late Friday were investigating a shooting in southwest Charlotte that left one person critically injured.
The shooting happened about 5:18 p.m. in the 400 block of Fairgreen Drive in the Steele Creek Division. Police did not immediately identify the person who was shot.
When officers arrived, they found a black male in the driveway suffering from an apparent gunshot wound to the head. He was taken to Carolinas Medical Center.
Witnesses told police they heard multiple gunshots.
Police said the shooting did not appear to be a random act.
