Mayor Anthony Foxx and the CMS Investment Study Group will host a free screening of the documentary, “Waiting for Superman,” on Monday, Nov. 29.

Special invitations are extended to residents in the Beatties Ford Road corridor and west Charlotte.

“Waiting for Superman” is a documentary by filmmaker Davis Guggenheim. It explores the ways in which the American public education system is failing our nation's children. It also explores the roles that educational reform could play in improving the situation.

The screening will be at the  AMC Theatre at Northlake Mall (7235 Northlake Drrive). Admission starts at 6 p.m., and the movie will begin promptly at 6:10 p.m.

An hour-long discussion will immediately follow.

Seating is limited, so RSVPs are required.

Contact Pam Young in the mayor’s office at pyoung@charlottenc.gov or 704.336.2064 no later than noon on Monday, Nov. 29, with your name and number of tickets you’d like to request.
