Kalisha Madden has been missing in Detroit since the early morning hours of Nov. 28, but you’ve probably never heard of her. But perhaps, you heard about the girl who went missing while vacating in Aruba or the lady who went missing shortly after appearing on “The People’s Court.” Perhaps the reason you haven’t about Madden because she’s black. “It just seems like our lives are less valued," Derrica Wilson, co-founder of Black and Missing Foundation, Inc. told BlackAmericaWeb.com. Oprah admits to making mistakes
Oprah Winfrey is on a mission to save OWN after a disappointing first year. The station, which marks its one-year anniversary on Sunday has yet to improve on, or in some instances even match, the modest ratings and small audience earned by the low-profile Discovery Health channel it replaced. "Yes, some mistakes were made. Who hasn't made mistakes? The real beauty is you can say, `I learned from that,'" Winfrey said. "I don't worry about failure. I worry about, `Did I do all I could do?'" The ancient art of home birthing
Erykah Badu delivers babies. She has been a doula since 2001, and delivered all three of her children at home. She says home birthing is an ancient art and believes more women should consider it. She’s even willing to make home visits and assist with the delivers, if the timing works out. (Read more)

‘I’m not Gay: I’m just a sissy’
Lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender (LGBT) rights advocates are blasting the release of a new 2012 calendar by “Christian” cartoonist Joe King titled “I’m Not Gay, I’m just a Sissy.” Many fear the calendar, which promises “12 months of sexual confusion” and pokes fun at the HIV/AIDS crisis in the gay community, will only further perpetuate negative stereotypes about homosexuality.
