N.C. Democratic Party hires outreach coordinator

Marjorie Fields Harris, a veteran operative in party politics, has been hired as outreach coordinator for the North Carolina Democratic Party.
In her new role, Harris will work with the eight auxiliary caucuses of the state party, county parties and congressional district parties to enhance their visibility in the upcoming 2014 elections. She also will help develop strategies for voter engagement and outreach, the NCDP said in a statement Wednesday.
Harris began her career as a staffer for the Democratic National Committee (DNC) and most recently was campaign manager for state lawmaker Yvonne Lewis Holley, who represents District 38 in Wake County. She also has experience with the National Action Network, The One Campaign and worked as a marketing & public relations consultant for the International Civil Rights Center & Museum in Greensboro, NC.
Harris currently serves as 1st vice chair of the Wake County Democratic Party.
