Noted dentist Spurgeon Webber Jr. dies

Charlotte dentist and noted local philanthropist Dr. Spurgeon Webber Jr. died Tuesday. Webber, who was 77 years old when he passed, practiced dentistry in the city for more than 40 years.

Throughout his storied career, Webber lent his support to numerous people in need and organizations, such as the Urban League of Central Carolinas.

On the group’s Facebook page, the ULCC released this statement: “Dr. Spurgeon Webber, Jr. DDS was a staunch supporter of the Urban League of Central Carolinas, a tireless community activist and a recipient of the Outstanding Community Champion Award at the 2010 Annual Meeting. Rest in Paradise Dr. Webber...”
