Out of Luck

Andrew Luck's decision to stay in college was like a stake through the heart to Carolina Panthers fans.
The Stanford University quarterback almost certainly would have been the Panthers’ No. 1 draft pick. Now team officials must be scratching their heads wondering what to do next.
Charlotte Observer sports columnist Scott Fowler interviewed Luck’s father, who said his son’s decision was not a slight toward the Panthers or team owner Jerry Richardson, who recently gave a rambling news conference that caused some to question his commitment to winning.
QUESTION: Do you believer Luck’s father when he says his son’s decision was not based on the prospect that the Panthers would draft him? Also, what advice would you give to Panthers officials concerning that No. 1 draft choice?
