It’s official: The Carolina Panthers have secured the No. 1 pick in the 2011 NFL draft.

With one game to play, the 2-13 Panthers are two losses worse than their closest competitors – the 4-11 Denver Broncos and Cincinnati Bengals.

Speculation runs high that Carolina will forego Auburn’s Cam Newton, the Heisman Trophy winner, to select Stanford quarterback Andrew Luck, assuming Luck decides to forego his senior year.
