Albemarle Road is closed from Interstate 485 to Rocky River Church Road this morning after a one-car wreck that left downed power lines in the road.

Outbound lanes will be closed all day. Inbound lanes will remain closed at least through the morning rush hour, the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Department said in a 4:40 a.m. media alert.

No injuries were reported in earlier wreck.

The Charlotte Observer suggests the following alternate route for inbound motorists: Take N.C. 51 to Truelight Road to Wilgrove Mint Hill Road and then back onto Albemarle.
