A 14-year-old boy was killed late Tuesday when he was struck by several cars while trying to cross in the 3000 block of E. WT Harris Boulevard.

Police did not immediately release the victim’s name.

According to a police report, the incident happened shortly after 7 p.m. when the boy stepped into the roadway just east of N. Tryon Street. Paramedics pronounced him dead a short time later.

None of the drivers was charged in relation to the crash, although one was arrested for driving without a license.
