A pedestrian was in serious condition Sunday night after being stuck by a pickup truck as football fans were leaving Bank of America Stadium.

Police did not release information about the victim other than to say that he was a white male with life-threatening injuries.

The incident happened at about 3:56 p.m. According to police, the victim was walking in the 800 block of Cedar Street, “in the area of the walkway,” when he was struck by Dodge pickup driven by Algie Clyburn Jr., a 59-year-old black male.

The pedestrian was pinned under the truck and had to be freed by members of the Charlotte Fire Department. He was taken to Carolina's Medical Center.

Police closed off a section of Morehead and Cedar streets while they investigated the crash, which caused traffic delays for fans leaving the game.

Police said a game ticket was found amid the pedestrian’s personal belongings, indicating that he had attended the game.
