Police on Thursday arrested 23-year-old Larry Antwon Perry (photo) for one of three homicides that occurred in Charlotte last weekend.

He is accused of killing Jamal Salih, 46, who was shot inside an Internet sweepstakes café on Tuckaseegee Road during a robbery attempt.

Witnesses told police the suspect entered the Business Center around 1 p.m. Saturday and demanded money from the cashier while customers were inside. Salih and the suspect got into an altercation and Salih was shot.

The suspect, who fled on foot, was described as a black male, approximately 6 feet tall, with a black cloth covering his face.

A surveillance camera caught an image of the suspect running from the building.

The killing was one of three homicides that occurred in Charlotte over a 36-hour period between Saturday and Sunday.

Police said they received information implicating Perry in the killing. He was arrested on a probation violation and later charged with armed robbery and murder.

Police said Perry had been arrested eight times previously in Mecklenburg County.
