Police today arrested two men in connection with a Sunday afternoon homicide in the Grier Heights community and identified the victim as 23-year-old Kelvin Lancaster.

Charged with murder is Aaron Bernard Bryant II, 23. Charged with accessory after the fact is Brandon Dominic Green, 22.

Jail records show that Green had been arrested at least nine times previously in Mecklenburg since 2008. Records did not indicate any previous arrests for Bryant.

Police believe the shooting, which happened in the area of 3463 Marvin Road, was sparked by an argument.

Officers were called to the area in response to a report of an assault with a deadly weapon. When they arrived they found Lancaster outside the location dead of an apparent gunshot wound.

Witnesses told police they saw two black males leave the scene in a tan or champagne-colored Chevy Caprice Classic.
