Police arrest fifth suspect in motel killing
Police on Wednesday arrested a fifth suspect in connection with the weekend killing of a New York man inside a north Charlotte hotel.
Bianca Desiree’ Little, 19, was charged with murder, attempted murder, robbery with a
dangerous weapon, and conspiracy to commit robbery with a dangerous weapon.
Police earlier arrested and charged four others in connection with the killing of Keith Cox, 43. Cox died inside the Budget Inn on North Graham Street at I-85 after he was shot around 1:37 a.m. Sunday.
According to the Charlotte Observer, Cox was visiting Charlotte from New York and may have gone to the motel to meet some females. He worked as a concession stand operator for concerts.
Members of his family told NewsChannel 36 that Cox may have been lured to the motel and targeted for robbery.
Three of the five suspects arrested are women.
Another man, Clayton King, also was shot. He was taken to Carolinas Medical Center in serious condition.
Little was booked into the Mecklenburg jail. According to the sheriff’s website, she has been arrested at least six times in Mecklenburg County, most recently in April on charges of assault and battery and misdemeanor larceny.
Police say they continue to investigate the weekend shooting. If you have information you are asked to call 704-432-TIPS and speak directly to a homicide detective, or call Crime Stoppers at 704-334-1600.
