Police investigate east Charlotte stabbing death
Police checking on the welfare of a man in east Charlotte found him stabbed to death inside a home Monday.
Police said they could not immediately identify the victim.
Officers went to a home in the 2100 block of Purser Drive after receiving a 911 call about 1:16 p.m. The caller had grown concerned after being unable to reach the victim.
When officers arrived, they found the man unconscious and suffering from an apparent stab wound. They also found signs of a struggle inside the house.
Police were going door-to-door late Monday asking neighbors if they saw anything suspicious. Detectives also were looking for the victim’s vehicle, possibly a gray 2001 Jeep Cherokee with North Carolina license plate WPH-5769.
Anyone with information is asked to call 704-432-TIPS, or Crime Stoppers at 704-334-1600.
