Police Wednesday morning were looking for a black truck possibly linked to an overnight homicide in southwest Charlotte.

Officers responding to a call in the 600 block of Village Court, in the Westover Division, found a man lying in the parking area of an apartment complex. He appeared to have been run over by a vehicle.

When paramedics arrived, they determined that the victim also had been shot once in the chest.

Police did not immediately release the man’s name pending family notification.

Based on the initial investigation, authorities are looking for a black, older model Chevy truck with a broken-out window. (Investigators aren’t sure which window is broken.) The truck also might have a pin stripe down the sides.

Anyone with information is asked to call 704-432-TIPS and speak directly to a Homicide Unit Detective, or call Stoppers at 704-334-1600.
