Police are investigating a Saturday night shooting that left a man dead at an apartment complex in east Mecklenburg County.

Police on Sunday identified the victim as 28-year-old Brooks Dangelo Crist. No information was released about a possible motive.

The incident happened at about 9:49 p.m. in a common area at the Lake Point Apartments in the 6000 block of Lake Forest Road in the Hickory Grove Division.

When officers arrived, they found the victim lying on the ground behind an apartment buildings, suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. He was pronounced dead at Carolinas Medical Center-Main.
