Charlotte-Mecklenburg police are investigating a death reported Saturday in the University City area.

The victim, found inside a home in the 10600 block of Hellebore Road, was not immediately identified and appeared to have been dead for several days, police said. The victim’s name was not immediately released pending notification of family members.

Officers were called to the home at 6:52 a.m. by someone who reported the victim dead. Investigators labeled the death suspicious but did not say how the person died. The death did not appear to be a random act of violence, police said.
