Charlotte-Mecklenburg police said Friday they were looking for Tyrone V. Patterson, accused of cutting off an electronic monitoring device while out on bond.

Patterson, 30, also is wanted on charges of breaking and entering, larceny after breaking and entering, and felony possession of stolen goods.

Police said Patterson had been fitted with an electronic monitor while waiting trial on burglary charges. On Thursday, according to police, he cut off the monitor at about 6:10 p.m. in the 4300 Block of Rolling Hill Drive off Sugar Creek Road.

As of Friday morning Patterson was being sought by the Violent Criminal Apprehension Team (VCAT).

Police said Patterson has an extensive criminal history, including 13 arrests in Mecklenburg. He is believed to frequent the area around North Tryon Street and Sugar Creek Road.

Anyone with information on his whereabouts is asked to call VCAT at (704) 336-VCAT or call 911.
