Police are investigating a robbery and shooting in north Charlotte that led to the death of a 40-year-old man.

Police identified the victim was Larry Dean Wallace Jr.

According to an initial report, the incident occurred about 12:46 p.m. Saturday in the 4800 block of Woodstone Drive, where Wallace had gone to visit a friend.

He died several hours later at Carolinas Medical Center.
