Charlotte-Mecklenburg police need your help in locating a missing person.

Margaret Thames, 72, walked away from her home in the 1100 block of Leigh Avenue some time Wednesday morning. Ms. Thames has been diagnosed with schizophrenia, and her family is extremely concerned.

She was last known to be home around 6 a.m. but may have left around 11 a.m.

Police discovered that she was treated and released from Presbyterian Hospital and was seen leaving around 1:30 p.m., walking toward Hawthorne Lane and Elizabeth Avenue.
Ms. Thames was last seen wearing camel brown pants, black shoes, and a black & beige checkered coat.

She is African American, 5-foot, 3-inches tall and weighs 155 pounds. She has black and gray hair and brown eyes.

Anyone who sees her or has information about Ms. Thames’ whereabouts is asked to call 911, or call Crime Stoppers at 704-334-1600.
